Ponk or Paunk or Belasi is very rare to find in the markets. This are green immature sorghum grains that is used to make certain dishes during winter. I was lucky to get these from Gujarat and here is a delicious salad made using Green Sorghum grains.
Ingredients:
1 Cup Ponk
1 Onion chopped finely
1/2 Cucumber chopped finely
1 Carrot grated
1 Green Chili chopped finely
Few sprigs of Coriander leaves chopped finely
1/4 Cup Pomegranate
Juice of one Lemon
Salt to taste
Method:
Add all ingredients in a mixing bowl. Gently toss.
Remove to a serving dish and serve.
