Leaves made using velvet cloth. These leaves can be used while making artificial flower bunches.
Materials required:
1/2 meter Green Velvet Cloth
Fevicol
Scissors
Wire
Green glue tape
1 knife
Method:
Spread the velvet cloth upside down on a flat surface. Apply fevicol evenly over the cloth.
Leave it to dry for 24 hours. After 24 hours the soft cloth will be stiff.
Cut square or rectangle pieces in sizes of your choice. Shape the pieces like leaves using scissors. On the fevicol side stick the wire for support and let the wire extend few centimeters out of the leaf for the stem.
Roll the exposed wire with glue tape.
Heat the knife and use it to make midrib and markings on the velvet leaf to get a natural look.
Use the leaves along with artificial flowers.
Hi Im thrilled you’ve posted this tutorial. I’ve been looking for so long on how to make a velvet leaf! Could you tell me if there is an alternative to Fevicol glue? It’s just that the product shown in the bottle will have to be brought in from India and i would prefer something with less air miles! Also is it water proof?
Once again thanks so much for this tutorial.
