Orchid Aerides Crispum is widely grown in the western ghats of India. The flowers have a pleasant fragrance. The aerial roots are thick and absorb all the essential nutrients from the surroundings.
The flowers lasts for more than a month. This plant needs support when grown in an pot. A moss stick will give very good support for the plant.
I bought this plant 1991 in Mysore from the wife of Late Dr. Chandrashekhar. Dr. Chandrashekhar was very passionate about his Orchid garden and had collected many Orchid plants from different parts of the world.
The family were really pained to part with the plants and I promised them that I would care for the plants and to this day I have this plant, which is growing well.
Shantha, this is Aerides crispum….look at the crispate edges of the lip.
Changed the title Prejith and I have also added about the person from whom I bought this plant.
