The Dendrobium Ovatum orchid can be easily mistaken for Dendrobium Aqueum. The difference between the two is the Green center. Dendrobium Ovatum is also known as Green lipped dendrobium. The flowers are off white with a green center and bloom on a leafless stalk. I had a very small plant around 5 cm long and a single flower bloomed on this leafless stalk!
A mature plant can have flower racemes up to 15 cm long.
Unknowingly a white big, palm size flower has grown in 1 of my pots Shantha.. yele mare kaayi thara that bud was completely closed by 1 of the leaves.
Thought that it was ‘brahma kamala’ ,but after searching found that it is ‘orchid cactus’. It blooms open during night n closes in morning.
