Coral Shower Tree is semi deciduous belongs to Caesalpiniaceae (Gulmohar family) and is a native of tropical America.
The tree grows to a height of 18 to 20 meters and the branches are long and hanging.
Coral Shower tree looks beautiful even without flowers and they are planted for their ornamental value.
The leaves are pinnate, with 10 to 20 pairs of oval leaflets, each around 2-5 cm long. The fruit is brown and long capsule and contains sweet and smelly pulp and is used as a laxative.
Bunches of pastel pink flowers cover the branches and the flowers fade as they mature. Bloom time is from March to May.
The wood of the tree is used for furniture and construction.
