My Grandmother’s brother Sri Magal Gopal Rao had a coffee shop known as Magal Coffee Works on the road perpendicular to Jagan Mohan Palace in 1936. The pictures of the shop and the placard of a beautiful Devika Rani sipping coffee transports me to an era unknown to me. Sri Gopal Rao passed away last week at the ripe age of 98 years.
These pictures are a tribute to him.
