The crepes/pancakes are served in sets. Earlier a Mysore Set Dosa consisted of 4 Dosas, now it is 3 Dosas in a set. It is a filling breakfast served with Chutney and Sagu or Kurma.
Time Required: 20 Minutes + Soaking Time + Fermenting Time
Ingredients:
2 Cups Rice
1 Cup Urad Dal/Black Gram split
1tbsp Methi/Fenugreek seeds
1tbsp Bengal Gram
1 Cup Avalakki/Flattened Rice
1 Cup Cooked Rice
2tsp Sugar
Oil for roasting
Salt to taste
Method:
Soak Rice, Urad Dal, Methi and Bengal Gram for 5 hours. Soak Avalakki 10 minutes before grinding. Grind Rice, Urad Dal, Methi, Avalakki, Cooked Rice and Bengal Gram to a batter. Leave the batter to ferment for at least 6 – 8 hours. Add Sugar and Salt to the batter and mix well. Heat and grease a griddle and pour a spoonful of batter thickly in a circular shape shown in Picture1.
Sprinkle a teaspoon of Oil and roast. Flip and roast on the other side too.
Make three Dosas of the same size and arrange in a serving plate.
Serve Mysore Set Dosa along with Butter, Chutney, and Vegetable Kurma.

Mysore Set Dosas are served only in hotels, not in homes. All three dosas together. At home, we get one by one, straight from the tawa! 🙂 The limit depends on the quality of chutney or palya that accompanies the ‘schedule’!
Hi Dinakar,
Very true that at home you serve Dosas one by one, but this is the best way to serve if the family members do not come on time to the dining table!
Cheers!
Shantha
Hi Shantha,
I am preparing this today. How long should the batter be femented?
Thanks,
Jyothi
Jyothi, leave the batter to ferment for at least 6 hours. Usually in winter it takes longer to ferment.

Shantha
Hi Shantha ,
You have mentioned sugar in the ingredients but i don’t see in the method .So when should we add the sugar.
