Dal Methi is a nutritious side dish prepared using Split Red Gram and Fenugreek leaves.
Cuisine: North Indian
Time Required: 25 Minutes
Ingredients:
1 Cup Tuvar Dal / Split Red Gram
1 Bunch Methi / Fenugreek leaves
4 Green Chilies, Slit
1″ Ginger, Minced
3 Pods Garlic, Minced
2 tbsp Oil
1/2 tsp Mustard Seeds
1/2 tsp Jeera / Cumin Powder
1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
Salt to taste
Method:
Cook Tuvar Dal in a cooker and keep it aside. Clean and chop Methi and keep it aside. Heat Oil in a pan and add Mustard Seeds, Jeera and when they splutter, add Turmeric Powder. Add Ginger, Garlic, Green Chilies, and Onion and saute for a minute.
Add Methi and stir fry for a minute.
Add cooked dal and mix well.
Remove to a serving dish and serve hot with your choice of Indian Bread, Plain Rice, or Pulao.
