Hunase Saaru is a watery accompaniment served with plain Rice and is prepared using Tamarind.

Ingredients:
2 tbsp Saarina Pudi / Rasam Powder
Lemon sized Tamarind soaked in water or Lemon sized Tamarind Chigali
2 sprigs of Curry Leaves
Few Coriander leaves, Chopped finely
1tsp Oil
1tsp Mustard Seeds
1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
1/4 tsp Hing / Asafoetida
Salt to taste
Method:
Heat 2 Glasses of water, add Tamarind pulp, Curry leaves, Saarina Pudi, and Salt. Let it boil for 5 minutes.
Heat 1 tsp Oil and add Mustard Seeds, when they splutter, add Turmeric Powder and Asafoetida. Pour this over the boiling mixture.
Remove to a serving dish and garnish with Coriander leaves. Serve hot with Rice.
