This healthy dish is prepared using whole red lentils.
Time Required: 20 Minutes
Ingredients:
1 Cup Saboot Masoor Dal / Whole Red Lentils
1 Onion, Chopped finely
1 Tomato, Chopped finely
2 – 3 Green Chilies, Chopped finely
3 – 4 cloves Garlic, Chopped finely
1tsp Garam Masala Powder
Juice of ½ Lemon
2tbsp Oil
½ tsp Jeera / Cumin Seeds
¼ tsp Turmeric Powder
½ tsp Mustard Seeds
Salt to taste
Method:
Cook Masoor Dal with water in cooker for a single whistle. Heat Oil in a kadai / pan and add Mustard Seeds and when they splutter, add Cumin Seeds and Turmeric powder. Add Garlic and Onion and sauté for a minute and then add Tomatoes and stir. Add the cooked Masoor dal, Salt and Garam Masala Powder and mix well. If it is too thick, add more water and let it come to a boil. Add Lemon juice and remove to a serving dish. Serve hot with your choice of Indian Bread.
