In Mysore, our favorite destination for ice cream would be the ice cream shop Phalamruta (Fruit nectar) situated in Lansdowne building. The tiny shop had few wooden benches lined up for the customers to sit and enjoy a wide range of ice creams. We children would wait with great anticipation for the waiter to get the bowl filled with fruits and a big scoop of ice cream over it and the shining Cherry on top. Fruit salad with ice cream was the tastiest dessert as it was a rare treat during our growing up years.
Time required: 10 Minutes
Ingredients:
Few scoops of ice cream
Assorted fruits like Musk Melon, Orange segments, Seedless Grapes, Apple, Sapota, Mango, chopped into pieces
Sugar or Honey to taste
Method:
Mix the fruit pieces with sugar or honey and chill.
In each bowl add fruits and over it a place a scoop of ice cream and garnish with a cherry.
