Cook up this chocolate burfi / squares on Valentine’s Day and surprise your valentine.
Time Required: 20 Minutes
Ingredients:
1 Cup Sugar
3 tsp Butter
2tsp Cocoa powder
1 Cup Milk powder
Method:
In a thick bottomed pan add sugar and ¾ cup water. Let the sugar melt, next add butter and cocoa powder and let it come to a boil.
To this keep adding milk powder little by little and keep stirring continuously. As the mixture starts leaving the sides pour it on a greased tray.
Leave aside for 3 minutes. Cut into desired shapes and let it cool some more.
Remove the pieces and serve.
Great for your Valentine, perfect looking bars, enjoy.
I will be making a fresh batch again, ‘cos they are polished off the containers in no time.
Hi Shantha,
You have mentioned in the chocolate burfi recipe that
“As the mixture starts leaving the sides pour it on a greased tray”
I am confused as to when I should pour it .
I would be more happy if you guide me on this as I have recently started cooking:)
Hi Seema,
The mixture become semi solid and when it starts leaving the sides, the mixture stuck to the sides quickly solidifies. This is an indication that the mixture has to be poured out on the tray.
Hope this helps.

Shantha
Excellent burfi. I was looking for Chocolate burfi. Almost all of them called for condensed milk/maida. Your is the only one sans the two. Burfi tasted good too.
Thanks for giving your feedback.

Shantha
