Cucumber Hasi Gojju is a sweet and sour salad and is prepared in South Karnataka households during auspicious occasions. If you are bored of the usual Kosambari (salad), you can try this recipe for a twist in the taste.

Ingredients:
1 Cucumber, peeled and chopped finely
Lemon sized Tamarind soaked in water
Lemon sized Jaggery
1 Cup fresh grated Coconut
Salt to taste
For the Masala:
2 tbsp Kadalebele / Split Chik Peas
1/2 tsp Fenugreek Seeds
6 – 7 Red Chilies
1 tsp Oil
For the seasoning:
1 tbsp Oil
1 tsp Mustard Seeds
1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
Few Curry leaves
Method:
Fry the masala ingredients in Oil and grind to a powder. Add Coconut, Tamarind, Jaggery, and Salt and grind to a paste.
Add this to the Cucumber pieces and mix well. Prepare the seasoning and add to the Cucumber. Mix well. Remove to a serving dish and serve.
