Pathrode Gasi is a gravy based side dish prepared using Pathrode.

Time Required: 20 Minutes + to prepare Patrode
Ingredients:
2 Cups Chopped Patrode
For the Masala:
½ Cup Grated Coconut
4 – 5 Red Chilies
¼ Cup Tamarind Pulp
4 tsp Coriander Seeds
¼ tsp Fenugreek Seeds
1½ tsp Jeera / Cumin Seeds
Oil for roasting
For the seasoning:
1 – 2 tbsp Oil
1tsp Mustard Seeds
1tsp Urad Dal / Black Gram Split
A pinch of Hing / Asafoetida
Few Curry leaves
Method:
Heat Oil and roast all the ingredients for the Masala except for Coconut and Tamarind pulp. Grind along with Coconut to a paste and remove to a thick-bottomed pan.
Add 1 cup water and let it cook for a 2 to 3 minutes on medium flame. Stir continuously. Add the Patrode pieces and mix well. Remove from heat and keep aside.
Heat Oil and add Mustard seeds and Urad Dal. When the Urad Dal turns pink, add Curry leaves and Hing.
Add this to the gravy and serve hot with plain Rice or Roti.
