Mutter Pakoda are tasty Peas fritters, it is great as an evening snack with a cup of coffee or tea. Peas are available in abundance during winters in India.
Time Required: 20 Minutes
Ingredients:
1 Cup Shelled Peas
1 Onion, Chopped finely
4 Green Chilies, Chopped finely
2 sprigs Curry Leaves, Chopped finely
3tbsp Cornflour
1tsp Jeera / Cumin Seeds
Oil for deep frying
Salt to taste
Method:
Grind Green Chilies and Peas to a coarse paste. In a mixing bowl, add Onion, Curry Leaves, Cumin Seeds, Salt and Cornflour to the Peas paste and mix well.
Heat Oil in a kadai. Take a spoonful of this mixture and pat it on the palm and deep fry until brown.
Remove on a kitchen towel to drain excess oil. Remove to a serving dish and serve hot with masala tea.
Another variety of Pakoda is prepared using Winter flat beans known as Avarekayi Masala Vada.
