Spicy Ammini Kozhukattai is prepared using Rice flour. Ammini means small, the small Rice balls are steamed and tossed in a spicy mixture. This is prepared as an offering to Lord Ganesha during Ganesha Chaturthi festival.

Ingredients:
For the balls:
1 Cup Rice Flour
1½ Cup Water
1tsp Oil
Salt to taste
For the seasoning:
1 or 2 tbsp Oil
1tsp Mustard Seeds
1tsp Bengal Gram / Kadalebele
1tsp Urad Dal / Uddinabele
½ Cup Fresh grated Coconut
Few Curry Leaves, Chopped finely
Few Coriander sprigs, Chopped finely
Salt to taste
Method:
Heat water and add Salt and Oil. When the water comes to a boil add the Rice flour and mix well to form a thick dough. Remove from heat and remove to a plate. Using little oil knead the dough well.
Divide the dough into small balls.
Steam the balls for 5 to 8 minutes.
Heat Oil in a pan. Add Bengal Gram, Urad Dal, and Mustard Seeds.
When they splutter, add Red Chilies, Green Chilies, and Curry leaves.
Add the steamed balls in the seasoning and toss gently. Add Salt.
Add Coriander leaves and Coconut and toss again.
Removing to a serving plate and serve hot Spicy Ammini Kozhukattai.
